Sucky 'Cloverfield'

Even at this wee hour of the night, i do see the need to make this post. There is this urgency from me to tell my friend a piece of news, a piece of news that won't make them waste their money because of a bloody lousy movie.

Now i totally get it. No wonder Paramount Pictures chose a viral campiagn to promote the movie. The poster doesn't showed much about the movie, perhaps the headless Statue of Liberty is enough to convince people the dynamic of this movie, but like i said and learnt, pictures can be deceiving at times, and in this case, it sure had me fooled.

Their marketing strategy has been successful. They not only disapprove of previews of the movies (even critics doesn't have the privillege of sneak previewing the movie), but also, they broadcast 'unclear' trailers on the movie itself, potraying a significantly similarities to that of Gozilla so that people would group 'Cloverfield' under the same group as Godzilla (another WOW monster movie).

I totally regretted watching this movie, well, i can't even said i watched before throughout most of the movie, my eyes were shut.

Extracted from GV website: A mysterious creature attacks New York City, sending the metropolis into chaos. J.J. Abrams (LOST) produces this modern-day monster movie seen from the cameras of the people trying to escape.

First time ever i seen a movie like that. The movies takes on a person who's going the video recording and the screen is like moving up and down, left and right. Within 10 minutes into the movie, i gave up. I started to feel nauseous because of the swaying of the camera and i had to shut my eyes. The volume was so loud that i can't even 'rest' in peace. This approx 1 and a half hour movie totally wasted my money. For those whom, even after reading this post, would still went to watch the movie, i only have two words for you, GOOD LUCK!
