Guitar, i'm back!

I never knew that it would happened again. I heartlessly left my guitar to rot months ago but now, i'm pumping life into it, all thanks to the sudden revival of Natural Objection. I started wiping the dust off my Guitar, the same thing Don did to his guitar i supposed. We're going Jamming, We're going Jamming!!!!

Those classics we loved, it's all ringing by my ears ago. Guitar Pro is a frequent program i've been using recently. For Whom The Bells Tolls, Holiday, Time Of Your Life, Kryptonite, 12:51, Jesus of Serburbia. - all the classics...

I'm gaining the momentum now and i'll be rocking in no time....

Random

I've got so much fun in the office lately. I'm perhaps the 'slackiest' person in the office. Just 48 days as of today, i'll be a free man, perhaps a worried one as well. The cohesiveness of us is really making work looks as though it's NOTHING! David finally made me got addicted to this crappy punky song, 'Teenage Dirtbag' by Wheatus. Everyone starts laughing the moment he sings it. Blah Blah Blah....JJ ORDed today, and come tomorrow, i guess it's another get-together among us. We're going to get as crazy as we could, but saldy, David couldn't attend. I'm going drink like how i missed it. I'm making up for those lost times and moments.

Tourism and Design. I had to choose between the two. One is my interest, the other is my skill. Where should i head? I'm still having trouble. I'm still following my heart rather than my half-dead brain. Events is seriously where i'm heading. I heard from my colleagues and friends saying how tough it would be, but then again, i suppose that's where one learns. I ought to learn it the hard way and work myself up the ladder. I've been scouting around and till now, no replies. Anyone has got any lobang? Please intro....

Dearie has got some insanely study moments. She has cooped herself in that tiny, small room for weeks. I'm going to save her! Just one more paper, cmon Dearie, 加油! Come next week, we will be enjoying ourselves. Speaking about enjoying, in order to ensure that this time round the Bangkok trip is fun, i've compiled all the guides and all the 'know wheres' and 'know whats' together. I even managed to find out this cool website whereby they simply tells you everything - what time to go to what place, what to look out for when you reach there, what are the dangers of that place etc etc. Thanks to ShuXia especially for her compilation of itinerary and also Dearie's colleague for her advice. Jo even gave us some pieces of advices and i'm thankful we stayed at Samran Place Hotel. Her review was good, plus, it's quite comfortable. I can't wait to soak in the bathtub....AH!!!!! Shiok....

If i didn't chat with the Mixed Rice gang last night, i wouldn't even realise all my Saturdays in June are packed. Sentosa with Xero4, BBQ with MR, Jamming with Natural Objection and also the Bangkok Trip with Dearie. Is 24 hours a day really enough???

Gonna catch Chronicles of Narnia today. Heard it's a nice show. 2 hours and 25 mins for the movie, it better be good....

My Dream - Theatre of Dreams

I was excited at the thought of it. It was actually quite possible on the 2nd thought. It has always been my dream. Now that we have discussed, i really can't wait to fulfil this long dream of mine.

We hope to embark on this wonderful trip late next year. Let's hope we can get some good deal when next season is up...

Food-Filling @ Food Expo

I was damn shagged after guard duty this morning. I reckon i need my sleep at night, and therefore require to replenish in the day as well. Past few nights, i wasn't sleeping well. Thursday i totally didn't sleep a single hour at all, because i was busy soaking myself in Man Utd's glory. After the match, i went back home and barely 15 mins, i'm out again. Yesterday was my guard duty, i thought i could catch up some sleep which i've been missing, BUT THEN, i couldn't sleep. It was so hot inside the bunk, humid as well. I couldn't stand it. Therefore, i missed the chance of having some quality sleep.

I'm so shagged that i dropped dead the moment i reach home after shower. Sadly, my body forced me to cancel out MR night cycling outing. I desperately need that night sleep, i can't imagine not sleeping again and yet, spending one whole day out tomorrow. Gosh, i'll be a zombie by then.

Due to unforeseen circumstances, I and Don went to Food Expo. We had been wanting to go since 'lots of Food Expos' ago, but never had the chance. Finally, the chance is here. And i'm glad we did anyway. And we will continue for the next few Food Expo right Don?

Anyway, there's sooo many people there. Perhaps it's not just because of the Food Expo but also because of the Robinsons Sales and also Adidas warehouse sales as well.

And so, we kick off our food feasting, after grumbling how hungry we are when we are on our way there. We started off with Pork Bun. It was tasty but certainly not as tasty as the one at the Westlake outlet whereby there's a queue there. Nevertheless, 1 dollar for that as compared to 2.2 bucks for the Westlake's....worth it. I'm giving a rating for every of the food shown on the pictures.

Pork Bun - 4/5

We got thirsty not long after, or rather, just after our first food. We reckon we will be needing lots of drinks and in order to eat and try as much food as we can without getting ourselves full so fast, we deployed the 'one food shared between us' method.

Grass Jelly Drink - 2.5/5

At last, we started our free sampling of food. Sampling of food are everywhere. Perhaps this is how they got people buying their products. However, i thought some food sampling are pathetically tiny. I was wondering, how to even taste whether the product you are selling is good when you just are giving a tiny portion for sampling. Oh Crap!

MeatBall (Mushroom Seafood / Original) - 4/5

Chocolate Chip Cereal with Koko Crunch - 2.5/5

Apart from food, there's also some weird looking 'food' walking around. Whenever i saw this at events like this, instead of either taking picture or shaking hands with them, i feel like pouncing my body against them or perhaps play some pranks on them. One slap on their behind would be funny. Imagine them turning around and not even knowing who hit them..Wahaa...alright, i'll stop...i know i'm crazy.

The Walking Gardenia Man

Seaweed - 4.5/5
Clear Noodle Soup - 3.5
F&N Mango Juice - 5/5
Laksa - 2.5/5
Toast bread with XO Sauce - 1.5/5
Chocolate with Pinapple filling - 2/5
Fish Luncheon - 1/5
On our way to start our feast, both me and Donna chanced upon this store which sell chicken rice @ 1 dollar. We both knew this would be in our stomach in a matter of time. Althought there's a queue, we went ahead. We assume it would be tasty and indeed, it was. What's even better is that all the proceeds they got from selling this chicken rice would go to the fund used for SiChuan earthquake victims. Bravo to their spirits.

Chicken Rice @ $1 - 5/5
Char Siew Chicken - 4.5/5
I realised that some stores there are just promoting their products, some using samples to promote whereas some simply just sell their products to gain the attention and crowd. DODO did just the latter. They sell 10 variety of their products and in the end, we brought all 10 at 3 bucks. Worth it..

Assorted DODO products - 4/5
Not long after, we realise we were very thirsty and we just keep looking for drinks and buying any we could find and also sampling them. Slurp..

Chocolate Malt Drink - 2/5
Barley - 4.5/5
Mr Bean Soya Milk - 3.5/5
We decided to take a break after Donna had too much in his stomach. We went to the Adidas warehouse Sales and also the Robinson Sales.
@ Robinson sales, we couldn't find what i wanted as well - speghatti, dress, handbag and most importantly, my wallet. I couldn't stand my current wallet as it stains my cards. But couldn't find anything that catches my attention. Perhaps there are just too many to choose from. We went to the toy section shortly and Don realised his passion for Guitar is back.
He's still a Rocker!!
We went back to Food Expo after a while. We had intended to complete walking and whole of Food Expo. By then, the crowd was insanely huge. Squeezing and pushing are commonly done.
Cosfish SharksFin Soup - 5/5
CodFish Otah - 3.5/5
Fried Mid Joint - 3/5
Ice Snow Jelly Drink - 2.5/5

Spicy Fishball, Tofu - 1.5/5

BBQ Squid - 0/5
BBQ Pork - 3.5/5
Braised Duck Wing - 4.5/5
White Crysanthemum and Peppermint Green Tea - 4/5

Australian Honey Drink - 1/5
Green Tea Soya Milk - 0/5
Hong Kong Noodles - 4.5/5
UNI Soya Milk (Warm) - 0/5
Osmanthus Green Tea - 5/5
Fried Durian Friiters - ??? (To Be Filled Up By Don)
We did brought something back as well. We would let ourselves down if we didn't. We brought some a set package of the Hong Kong noodles which includes cup noodles, ready made noodles etc, and of course, some sweet and salty Tau Sa Piah. Yummy.
We then decided to wrapped up this Food Expo with a dessert - ice cream!

Ice Cream - 3.5/5

If there's any food expo in future, we're sure to be back...the experience is certainly great...

Kings of Europe

Out on this day, finally, the first outing i proposed for Mixed Rice turned out not only successful but also memorable as well. The last time i watch Man Utd played Bayern Munich in Barcelona home ground, i was 14 years old then, watching at home. 9 years later, once again, they fought their way to the Final and it's Moscow this time round.

They kick off at 11pm, Moscow time. It's the first time a Champions League Final is being played that late. I've actually proposed that we watched it at Alps Cafe but the sudden thought it the afternoon made me called them, asking for their opening hours. They told me they will be closed @ 1am. Stunned. I panicked. Thankfully, ShuXia scouted online and found several good place, plus the fact that she travelled there earlier with Delon to recce.

After rounds of meaningless walk, we finally ended up @ Chijimes instead. It was never meant to be. We found a great spot. We were right on top, viewing those projected big screen from below.

Top view down onto the Big Screen
By the time we reached there, the crowd started to pour in. Below at the cafe, it's almost full house. Whereas on top, crowds including us were seen taking chairs from a nearby restaurant which had already closed. We made ourselves comfortable before getting for that big action.

Crowds started pouring in while we made ourselves comfortable

At 2 plus, i'm already eagered to watch the match. The starting line-up is therefore being shown. I was indeed stunned just like anyone else, Park Ji Sung was being excluded. He's supposed to be the 1st Asian ever to played in the Champions League Final. He had even purposely fly his parents over to watch him played but sadly, he wasn't even on the bench. I feel so him but I'm sure Alex Ferguson had his own problems.

Starting Line up: (Top from left) Hargreaves, V.Der Sar, Vidic, Ferdinand, Brown and Ronaldo
(Bottom from left) Tevez, Rooney, Scholes, Carrick and Evra

The match started pretty in favour of Man Utd. They had their full attacking options. They attacked and attacked but somehow, not being able to break the deadlock. To be fair, Chelsea did had their chances as well, but was pushed away by Man Utd. Until 28th min, it was a throw-in. From Brown to Scholes and back to Brown whereby he then delivered a cross with his unusual left foot and found Ronaldo who cooly headed it goalmouth. Superb. The person who's being targeted to be marked rightly actually had the liberty to score freely. Well done to him, 42 goals this season and flying high.

42nd goal made sure he flew high..
Sadly, Chelsea managed to cancel out Man Utd's lead by scoring a goal after some wet blunder by the main defenders. 2nd half is pretty much Chelsea's game. Man Utd totally lost most control of the game so in the end, both were tied at a 1-1 draw while they awaits extra-time.

I count Man Utd lucky to be able to escape from losing after the woodwork saves 2 of the shots both from Lampard and Drogba. Now's the funny part, a foul somehow had everyone worked up. Pushes were all around and it lasted for a minute or so, in the end, 2 yellow cards and 1 red card was flashed. Ignore the yellow cards, let's focus on the dummy. Television replay showed that he slapped Vidic and of course, it was the stupidiest behaviour one can ever have in a Final like this. Shame on him. I was happy though seeing how he got his day ruined by his own stupidity.

Another issue now. Another television replayed showed that Terry could have spitted at Tevez. He's not being investigated. I had the liberty of watching that incident replay from youtube and i'm sure he did spit. Despicable i must say. Let's hope he got his own punishment as well now that UEFA intends to investigate.

The match was then brought to penalties. A cruel decider of winner. Everything went smooth until Ronaldo missed penalty. His theaterical actions didn't help. All the Man Utd fans at Chijimes were devastated, including me. I prayed for miracle for subsequent Chelsea players to missed but they didn't, until it was John Terry's turn. I really thought we are doomed. We had handed Chelsea the victory, but then, it was a great miracle. HE MISSED. Everyone at Chijimes shouted, cheered and boo-ed as well, it really shows that almost everyone there is a Man Utd fans. And so, the penalty goes on.

Reaction from those who's really expected to score, but failed...

It was a tough fight after the 5th penalty. Ryan Giggs (my beloved idol) then went up to take the 8th spotkick. He slotted it well and it's down to Nicholas Anelka. Somehow, yet again, i prayed for miracle to happen. Van Der Sar did something i've never seen before. He pointed towards his left just because Anelka was about to shoot, because so far, all Chelsea's shots were towards his left. That distracted Anelka and allowed Van Der Sar to make a save towards his right. Screams and shouts were everywhere around. I can't imagined...I was speechless. Finally, Man Utd was a champions after 9 years!

The save that saves the day for Man Utd

Everyone ran towards Van Der Sar, the man of the match after he saved the penalty..
At last, i witnessed yet another glory moment of Man Utd as they clinched yet another European glory. A memorable experience for me. Thanks to MR as well...

Champions of Europe!

Men of Honour and Glory
And so, they celebrates...
At last, he's a man of that very moment...
