Weekend Fun (4)

It all started on Friday, that fateful day..BeeBlah BeeBlah....Wahaa...it's been a long time since we last gathered. We guys are here to rock together again, and of course, the usual person are missing - The Great Jonathan - as busy as ever. Don and Gav are released from their 'prison' after weeks of torture from their examinations and we decided that they should be given a good treatment after their torture to bring them back to their real world.

First up, [Ironman]. Another marvel movie. Simply marvelous i would say. Almost all marvel superheroes has made their way up onto the screen, except for Captain America, he's all i can think of, anybody else i miss out?

Based on the Marvel Comic with the same name, Robert Downey Jr. is taking on the role of troubled billionaire Tony Stark - aka Iron Man who is kidnapped and forced to build a devastating weapon. Instead, using his intelligence, he builds a high-tech suit of armor and escapes captivity. When he uncovers a nefarious plot with global implications, he dons his powerful armor and vows to protect the world as Iron Man.

I must say i'm loving every superhero movie that has hit the screen, and seriously, none has disappoint me, perhaps Spiderman 3. But seriously, that's all. More comic superhero turned movie superhero this year, it's going to start with Hulk before proceeding to Batman. I'm eager to catch them all...

Speaking of movies, so many nice movies has been transferred into my 'headquarters'. Now, i'm movie-ful. Can't imagine myself being as free as a bird, any free time and i'll just click open a movie file and feast my eyes on it. More movies coming up on the theaters, some of which i'm almost certain to catch would be [What Happen in Vegas], [Made of Honor], [Chronicles of Narnia] and [Get Smart]. Any takers for the movies?

We went to polish up our rusty pool skills after that. Looking at the amount of dust @ the cue, you would know how long we've been missing in such action. Certainly, we didn't played enough to satisfy ourselves as well because they closed so early, and indeed it's early - only 1.50am in the morning.

Saturday was another day and the main day of this whole weekend fun. Met up firstly with Don to bring him to buy his very first custom deck, after much influence on him in poker card magic. I myself couldn't resist the temptation of course and bought two decks myself. I'm loving all these decks. I have the interest and too, the determination to learn this very hobby well which will give me more reason to buy and also collect more decks. With the Shadow Masters deck already in my collection, i added in 'Ghost deck' as well as a normal 'Tally-Ho deck' for practising as well. When i was at the shop looking at decks and decks of card, i feel owning them all, i was full of envy. I'm more than ever to practise harder.

While waiting for Gav, we hit the pool center again. This time round was a much better session with better cues, better pool table and better balls.

We caught the movie 'The Forbidden Kingdom'. I find this movie abit lame but full of unrealistic stories. The perception of Monkey God might have been purposely twisted with positive intention but i simply couldn't appreciate it. So, i didn't enjoyed this movie as much.

An American teenager who is obsessed with Hong Kong cinema and kung-fu classics makes an extraordinary discovery in a Chinatown pawnshop; the legendary stick weapon of the Chinese sage and warrior, the Monkey King. With the lost relic in hand, the teenager unexpectedly finds himself traveling back to ancient China to join a crew of warriors from martial arts lore on a dangerous quest to free the imprisoned Monkey King. The Forbidden Kingdom is a mega production starring Jackie Chan and Jet Li. Peter Pau (Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon) is director of photography.

Next up, dinner @ Geylang. Somehow after some random chat with Don, we discovered that Gav has never eaten Frog Leg porridge with us before in the past. In the past, we met up quite a few times to eat but each time, Gavian would missed it due to some reasons or another but this time, he finally got the chance. We couldn't find the one which i and Don ate the previous time so we settled for the one which Gav ate when he was there @ Geylang some time ago. Not too bad for the Frog Leg but i thought the Porridge was bad. However, the hotplate beancurd was tasty and delicious. Sadly, i couldn't remember the coffeeshop name but i know it's located @ Geylang Lor 19. On our way back, i and Don realised that we had been searching in vain for the Frog Leg porridge which we have been looking for after we realised that it's in the other side of the 'Lorong'. 'Gek' was the only feeling we could felt at that point of time....

We went back to Don's house for some PES action. Another of our favourite. We failed to clinch the trophy again this time round, only managed to reach the Semi-Final before we got kicked out and too, failed to win the 3rd placing. We shall try harder again next time....i'm waiting...
